The Barns are a real step back in time. Mail Pouch started painting barns in the late 1880's. After the Highway Beautification Act was passed in 1957 the barn painters were laid off because many barns were located along highways. Interestingly enough a few years later the barns were designated as national treasures.
Harley Warrick was the last Original Barn painted employeed by Mail Pouch. He repainted a barn which he painted 20 years ago, in his hometown located in Ohio,just before his death. He was 76 years old when he went to be with the Lord. 11/28/2000

I LOVE mail pouch barns...I love the smell of mailpouch,--but not the taste...(yes Ive tasted it :)
