Too many of the same...
I posted this pic with great sorrow. This barn is near to me (in more ways than one) in that it's where my grandfather and dad farmed. They had 25 cows or so.
When I was growing up, that's what I wanted to do. However, as the caption reads, that way of life is gone. I'm not even sure it was ever here.
In my job with Cornell, I saw way too many empty barns. I consider these landmarks as the castles of America. We have gained examples from that castle-life, but we can never return.
Actually, that last sentence isn't accurate.
We can 'return' to that life, but we shouldn't.
